Filarakia is a Greek-American playgroup based in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn — thoughtfully created by two proud Greek moms who are also certified educators. We saw our own children flipping through Greek books and singing songs alone, and we knew they needed something more: a joyful, hands-on space where Greek culture could come alive through play, stories, food, music, and connection.
At Filarakia, we blend early childhood best practices with the heart of Hellenism. That means language, yes — but also dancing to Greek music, cooking traditional recipes, exploring faith-based traditions, and learning through movement, storytelling, and seasonal celebrations.
We’re not just “bilingual.”
We’re Greek to the core — and every activity is designed to engage kids while honoring the richness of our heritage.
Whether your child is hearing Greek for the first time or already saying “S’agapo” at bedtime, Filarakia offers a space where they’ll learn, grow, and feel proud of who they are — all while making lasting memories (and real φιλαράκια, or “little friends”).
